Sonar User Guide

Using Sonar without Internet Access

Sometimes we want to use TribeLab Sonar in an environment where there is no Internet access.  Without access to the tool on the TribeLab site we need another way of working.

Sonar is a single HTML page containing client side JavaScript and no server side components. This means it can be easily deployed to an internal web server or even the user's desktop. Deploying to an internal web server is preferable as there may be security restrictions in place that will add an additional step for your users when running Sonar locally.

Deploying to an internal web server

  1. Download a zip file containing Sonar from here and extract
  2. Copy sonar-2.0.html to your web server.
  3. Send the link to your users.

Deploying directly to the user desktop

  1. Download a zip file containing Sonar from here and extract
  2. Copy sonar-2.0.html to your user desktop or email it to them.
  3. Ask the user to respond positively if they are prompted to 'Allow blocked content' when opening Sonar.
Message asking the user to 'Allow blocked content'.
